Long as I Can See the Light

Hey there, everyone. It's been a while I posted something since I was away vacationing. But I'm back with some more cool artworks that you might like.

Today's piece is a painting of Buddha. I chose Buddha not because I'm a follower of the religion or its spiritual side but because I always experience this absurd serenity while merely looking at a Buddha picture or a statuette. That's what got me to pick up my brushes and start painting of my own interpretation of him.

This was easily one of the most taxing paintings I've done in a while. There were multiple factors one has to be careful about - one of them being the mixing and the shading of acrylic paints to get an even tone throughout the painting.

I've seen a gazillions of different forms of Buddha but the face is what grabs my attention the most. It depicts the extolled tranquility, Buddha is said to have. Hence i decided on focusing on the face with the aim of creating a calm aura around it. Hopefully you see that in my painting, below.
